Here’s an article from the New York Times covering a huge bicyle mounted protest in New York against the Republican National Convention. About 5000 bike riders rode through Manhattan and past Madison Square Garden, the site of the RNC. About 100 protesters were arrested for blocking traffic and disorderly conduct.

The most interesting thing to come of this was the amazing on camera arrest of Joshua Kinberg, inventor of a dot matrix chalk printer he attached to his bike which printed anti bush slogans on sidewalks as he rode down the street. He was being interviewed by Ron Reagan for MSNBC when NYPD officers arrested him. Here’s a link to a Bittorrent download of a video of the arrest.

In other news, hundreds of thousands are protesting in New York today against Bush and the RNC. This is really amazing. The convention hasn’t even started yet and there is this much activity already. I don’t know what the GOP was thinking when they chose NYC for their convention, New York has the highest concentration of active prostesters I’ve ever seen.
