…and surprisingly, this turns out to be a good thing for the consumer!

In the last few weeks I’ve noticed that my phone has been hopping back and forth between Cingular’s towers and AT&T’s. This is great for me, there used to be a few areas in Jacksonville, FL that got poor or no service from AT&T, but now in most cases there’s a Cingular tower in the area providing a nice strong signal.

Also, according to newcingular.com, a website set up to provide more information to existing Cingular and AT&T customers, AT&T’s customers will be able to roll over their unused minutes to the next month like Cingular’s customers do today. This is great for me since I rarely use all the minutes on my plan.
