Well, I’ve upgraded to Wordpress 2.02. So far so good. I had just barely decided to check if comments were working, when I got 5 spam comment attempts in my inbox. I love you guys too

Suddenly, the spambots seem to have found a way around my Captchas. I’ve been getting a lot of emails about spam comments needing moderation. bastards.

Although wordpress does a good job out of the box keeping spam off my blog, I still get an email every time someone tries to post a comment (spam or not). Lately the spammers have been more active so I installed the AuthImage wordpress plugin and things seem better already.

Like John Carmack recently wrote on his blog, sometimes a paradigm shift is a good thing. With that in mind I’ve blindly moved from Movable Type to WordPress.
So far, so good. But expect some wierdness as I fine tune things.

I’m going to be switching my blog to Wordpress in the next few days. I have a sandbox instance set up on my powerbook, and I’m going to figure out the best way to migrate everything over so the existing permalinks from movabletype still work.

John Carmack has switched from .plan files to a blog. This is very cool, he’s been pretty quiet on the non-rocketscience side of his work for a long time, and now he’s going to be writing about bleeding edge graphics again.
